Dr. Shraddha Maheshwari is the third female Neurosurgeon in the city of Mumbai, currently working in a renowned hospital in Mumbai. She was the 15th lady to become a Neurosurgeon in the country. With over 15 years of experience in Brain & Spine Surgery, she has special expertise in Skull base tumors, Spine surgery, paediatric Neurosurgery, Endoscopic brain and spine surgery. She has performed more than 5000 complex brain and spine surgery successfully.
Following her graduation she has worked at KEM Hospital, followed by her stint as Assistant Professor at BYL Nair Hospital and TN Medical college. She, is only female Neurosurgeon in the country who is the founder of a Neurosurgery department at a government run medical college (HBTMC & Dr. R. N. Cooper Hospital) and currently is an Associate Professor & Head at the same.
She is the first lady Spine Surgeon in the city of Mumbai and is the first surgeon to perform the complex surgery on Atlantoaxial dislocation from anterior approach in the city of Mumbai and second in the country. She has traveled around the world to propagate this technique. She is the Core committee member & Treasurer of the Neuro Spinal Surgeons Association and chairs their Women's wing.
